Test and measurement maker gets TPAC thumbs up

The first T&M equipment manufacturer to meet the test platform approval criteria (TPAC) for 3.5GHz TD-LTE band 42 (TDD42) is Rohde & Schwarz. At its meeting in Taiwan, the Global Certification Forum (GCF) validated more than 80 percent of the test cases for the R&S CMW500 protocol tester, the R&S TS8980 RF conformance test system and the R&S TS-RRM test system, making GCF work items GCF WI-090-42, WI-091-42 and GCF WI-092-42 relevant for certification of mobile user equipment.

Leading network operators in Japan already have licenses for 3.5 GHz TD-LTE band 42, and it is part of the European R&TTE directive EN 301 908 v7.0.1.

Rohde & Schwarz is currently the only T&M equipment manufacturer with validated protocol test cases for 3.5 GHz TD-LTE band 42.

The company had the world’s first RF conformance and RRM test cases for TDD42 validated back in October 2015.

By fulfilling all TPAC, Rohde & Schwarz has again demonstrated its leading role in test solutions that support manufacturers of user equipment and chipsets, network operators and test houses in the commercial evolution of TD-LTE.
