Measuring applications for its real-time spectrum analysers were unveiled by Rigol Technologies at embedded world 2019 in Nuremberg - the Vector Signal Analysis Software VSA and the EMI Analysis Software. The RSA3000 and RSA5000 real-time spectrum analysers are based on Rigol's newly developed "Ultra Real" technology and are characterised by their compact design, operation via touch screen and their modularity for a variety of applications.

For the RSA5000 family, Rigol introduces its Vector Signal Analysis Software VSA, which is a comprehensive tool for demodulation and vector signal analysis to find the root cause of problems in time, frequency, and modulation domains. Users can set the measurement displays to show multiple views of a signal at once and get greater clarity with flexible arrangement and sizing.

The diverse functions include I/Q waveform RF envelope analysis and flexible digital modulation analysis. The FMT trigger is based on Ultra Real for acquisition and modulation analysis.

It allows the measurement and analysis of wireless communication and wireless connection standards as well as BER test for known signal sequences. The modulation formats are FSK2, FSK4, FSK8, MSK, BPSK, QPSK, OQPSK, DQPSK, 8PSK, π/4-DQPSK, π/8-D8PSK, D8PSK, QAM16, QAM32, QAM64, ASK2, and ASK4.

Analysis quality results can be displayed as signal amplitude in time domain, spectrum, eye diagram, constellation and vector diagram, error vector magnitude, quadrature error, amplitude error, and phase error.

Another software application for the RSA5000 family is Rigol's EMI Analysis Software, which provides a comprehensive tool for reporting to CISPR 16-1-1 without the need for additional PC software. The application in the master device ensures stable and consistent results.

It has built-in CISPR compliant bandwidths, detectors and band presets. The software allows automated testing to regulatory Limit Lines with user-selected margins and provides amplitude correction for antennas, LISNs, cables, and preamps.

Both software applications are already installed in the current devices and are also available as an upgrade for existing devices of the respective device family.
