The R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyser from Rohde & Schwarz now provides 5GHz analysis bandwidth, which is required for analysing wideband signals such as automotive radar FMCW chirp signals, IEEE 802.11ay signals and 5G waveform candidates.

The R&S FSW-B5000 option combines with the R&S RTO2064 digital oscilloscope as an external digitiser, and the R&S FSW85 signal and spectrum analyser equipped with the new hardware option provides equalised 5GHz signal analysis bandwidth.

The amplitude and phase response of the analyser together with the R&S FSW-B5000 are fully characterised at the factory across the entire frequency range. The amplitude and phase measurement accuracy are guaranteed throughout the measurement bandwidth.

The R&S FSW-B5000 supports centre frequencies between 9.5GHz and 90GHz. For frequencies above 85GHz, the R&S FSW85 needs to be equipped with the R&S FSW-B90G option, which extends the frequency range up to 90GHz.

The transient and pulse measurement applications for the R&S FSW allow in-depth, wideband analysis of FMCW chirp signals and hopped and pulsed radar signals required for automotive radar applications.

The option also makes it possible to capture IEEE 802.11ay wideband signals for postprocessing and to perform measurements on waveform candidates for the future 5G standard.

It will be demonstrated for the first time to the public from September 11 to 13, 2017, at EDI CON in Boston.
