The option enables users to trigger on packet types as well as directly on data transmission content or error states such as CRC violations of the USB protocol. The decoded protocol content is displayed in an easy-to-read, color-coded format. Time correlation with the analogue signal makes it easy to identify faults caused by signal integrity problems. In addition, the protocol content is available in a tabular list on which a powerful search and navigation function can be used.
This helps users to keep track of even long records and to directly jump to positions of interest in the protocol. As a result, critical states can be easily isolated and system design bugs quickly identified through the time correlation of USB commands with other signals in the circuit under test. The R&S RTO oscilloscope allows parallel decoding of up to four different serial protocols.
The R&S RTO-ZF1 test fixture set is used to connect the DUT securely and reliably to the oscilloscope. For testing the design for compliance with the USB 2.0 standard, Rohde & Schwarz also offers the R&S RTO-K21 compliance test software certified by the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF).
