Rigol Technologies’ RF Signal Source is available with a maximum output frequency up to 6GHz. Applications for the DSG3000 Series RF sources include wireless communication, radar test, audio/video broadcasting, general purpose, education, and consumer electronics.

Basic specifications are an amplitude accuracy of <0.5dB (typical), an output amplitude range of -130dBm to +13dBm (+25dBm ALC off) and high signal purity, phase noise of <-110dBc/Hz@20kHz (typical). The source has a standard 0.5ppm internal clock, standard AM/FM/ΦM analogue and standard pulse modulation; on/off ratio up to 80dB.

All modulations support internal and external modulation and the standard 2U height design saves rack space. A rack mount kit is available.

The functional range can be extended with 4 available options. The high stable Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (option OCXO-A08) enhances the temperature stability of the reference frequency from 0.5ppm to 5ppb. An additional accuracy enhancement option is the so called Power Meter Controller (option PMC-DSG3000). With this option it is possible to control USB Power Meters from different manufactures (Agilent/R&S/etc.). This is used as an automatic flatness calibration function (cables, attenuators, amplifiers and so on) for test systems. Functional enhancements are the options IQ and Pulse. (IQ-DSG3000; PUG-DSG3000)

With the Pulse Option the DSG3000 is able to act as Pulse Train Generator. The IQ option enables digital modulation generation. This option offers the possibility to internally generate IQ Signals and output this as RF IQ-signals or as baseband I and Q Signals. Also external I and Q signals can be inputted and modulated to RF up to 6GHz.
