Atlantic Microwave has launched two families of directional couplers. Specifically designed for cellular radio and satellite communications, the new series of RF directional couplers from Atlantic Microwave Ltd cover the frequency range of 800 to 2500 MHz in a wide choice of coupling factors from 5 to 20 dB.
The standard Type N female connectors provide for a rugged design and the operating temperature range of -55 +85 C allows use in a wide variety of locations.

All units have impedance of 50 ohms with input and output VSWR of 1:25:1 max and insertion loss of 0.4 dB max for a model with 20 dB coupling.

Common features of all models include RF power handling of 20 watts CW, frequency sensitivity of +/- 0.5 dB and a housing size of 100x25x25 mm in aluminium alloy with matt black finish.

With a variety of applications in communications, radar and test and measurement in mind, the new BDC series of broadband directional couplers has been introduced by Atlantic Microwave Ltd for frequency coverage from 500 MHz to 18 GHz in multi-octave bands.

In each band there is a choice of either 6, 10, 15 or 20 dB coupling with tolerance of +/- 1 dB and frequency sensitivity ranging from +/- 0.6 dB at the low frequency end to +/- 1.0 dB for a 2-18 GHz unit. Impedance is 50 ohms.

All units are supplied in robust aluminium alloy housings with matt black finish for operation over temperatures from -54 to +125 C and in environments to MIL-E-5400.

SMA female connectors to MIL-C-39012 are standard but type N female can be supplied as an option.
