O-to-E module adds optical test capabilities to real-time scopes

A DC-coupled optical to electrical converter module, the 02e, features a bandwidth of 25GHz the highest on the market today, according to Coherent Solutions. The amplified output of o2e makes it a perfect match to real-time oscilloscopes. The versatile o2e has a multi-mode input that accepts both multi-mode and single-mode input fibres and a broad 830nm – 1600nm wavelength coverage makes it compatible with a wide range of applications.

The o2e will enable the optical R&D engineers to unleash the power of real-time oscilloscope measurement for PAM4 intensity modulated optical signals – as it lets them measure streaming, non-repetitive data without the need for a trigger signal.

o2e also comes in a 4Ch version to allow simultaneous measurement of IEEE Ethernet Standards which utilise 4 fibres or 4 WDM channels.
