Megger has added to its family of digital low resistance ohmmeters to include the DLRO2X.

This enhanced version of the DLRO2 features data storage, test limits and noise rejection test mode.

The DLRO2X is ideal for use in aviation, renewable energy, rail, marine, and oil and gas applications. It includes all the same features as the DLRO2, but also has the ability to store test results by Asset ID and full results details for permanent record keeping and preventive/predictive maintenance.

Operators can conveniently store results by asset without having to stop to write them down. The effects of operation and environment can be trended over time to keep maintenance ahead of deterioration and failure. Test results can be proven to clients and oversight authorities and directly entered onto certifications.

Data storage

The DLRO2X also features data storage that can save results to the internal memory. Folders can be created to store results for each asset ID. When a test is complete, the results can be manually saved to a chosen asset ID or the Auto Save function can be set up so that all results will automatically be saved to a specified folder once the test has completed. Results can be copied to a USB drive.

Noise rejection

This robust handheld meter is equipped with a noise rejection test mode that allows the unit to take measurements in extremely noisy locations where other instruments fail. This is made possible by Megger’s patented Confidence Meter, as current is passed continuously and in one direction, the DLRO2X feeds a stream of measurements into the meter. It is then refined until a stable, accurate measurement is obtained.

Quick data comparisons

Repetitive measurements are possible through the DLRO2X difference meter. These measurements can be quickly and easily compared with an initial reference measurement. The difference meter translates percentage difference to a needle/pointer movement to make it visually easy to see change.

Long test leads are not a problem

Like the DLRO2, long test leads are not a problem for the DLRO2X. Applications that require long test leads work well because the unit has a dedicated long test lead mode that optimises the instrument to work with them. The unit’s long test lead function is able to provide up to 1A of test current into 4 Ohms resistance, making it ideal for testing wind turbine and avionic lightning protection applications.

Designed for safety

The lightweight and compact DLRO2X offers a robust construction and IP54 ingress protection rating, making it resistant to shocks, as well as wet or dusty environments. Designed with safety in mind, the instrument has CATIV 300 V/CAT III 600 V safety ratings in line with IEC 61010, making it suitable for use on all types of low-voltage industrial systems
