A Tool Qualification Support-Kit designed to help customers face the many challenges of software development for safety-related systems has been developed by Lauterbach for use with its TRACE32 code coverage analysis tools. The TRACE32 trace tools provide fast and efficient trouble shooting capabilities to detect complex errors that only occur under run-time conditions.

The new kit aims to meet the requirements for the development of avionic and automotive applications in compliance with DO-178C and ISO 26262.

"The TRACE32 Tool Qualification Support-Kit is provided as a prefabricated package containing documents and a test suite for the validation of TRACE32,” said Barry Lock, UK Manager, Lauterbach. “This should be a great help to engineers in this field. In the upcoming months the scope of the test suite will be continuously extended to provide support for a number of platforms.”

“As software is becoming ever more complex, with more lines of code and far more sophisticated algorithms, ensuring its integrity has becoming a major challenge for engineers and developers,” added Lock. “ Furthermore, proving the integrity of the code is a further challenge. This package will help developers address this challenge.”
