Spirent Announces Enhanced Functionality Of Spirent mX

Spirent Communications has today revealed the addition of Spirent Studio functionality on the Spirent HyperMetrics mX module. Test coverage now includes capabilities such as testing DPI, next-gen firewalls and traffic policies. The combination of capabilities allows test engineers to extract the maximum value out of the hardware they already own.

This new option provides test teams with both application and security testing with the latest applications and most current attack database pulled from Spirent TestCloud, a database of customer capture files that is updated every two weeks. A simple Spirent Studio add-on combined with Spirent TestCloud makes thousands of test applications available to users. By adding to the portfolio of solutions supported on the Spirent mX module, this new functionality enables users to do more with their existing hardware.

“This announcement addresses our existing Spirent Avalanche and TestCenter customers who want to add the security testing strengths of Spirent Studio,” said Aswath Mohan, director of product marketing manager at Spirent. “It’s an exciting new option for Spirent’s Ethernet test chassis owners. Spirent now has the most complete Layer 2-7 solution available on the market that combines Spirent TestCenter, Avalanche, Landslide and now Studio, all on the same module.”
