DOCSIS 3.1 program gets new adherent

CableLabs is to join Averna’s DOCSIS 3.1 Protocol Analyser Early Adopter Program to add its voice and experience to the development and review process for Averna’s next-generation DOCSIS 3.1 Protocol Analyser. Averna’s DOCSIS Protocol Analyser is the industry standard for functional DOCSIS and EuroDOCSIS network analysis, providing visibility into all layers of the network.

Multiple system operators (MSOs), chipset manufacturers, product developers and certification bodies use Averna’s DOCSIS Protocol Analyser to quickly find and correct trouble spots.

“We’re very happy to have CableLabs join in the review process of our DOCSIS 3.1 Protocol Analyzer,” commented Alex Pelland, Director of Broadband Test Strategy for Averna. “Our DOCSIS 3.1 Protocol Analyser covers current DOCSIS 3.0 as well as upcoming DOCSIS 3.1 testing needs and is specifically designed to make the technology switch as easy and cost effective as possible for our clients and partners.”

“DOCSIS 3.1 technology will enable a new generation of cable services and help operators continue to meet consumer demand for high-speed connections and sophisticated applications, positioning them as the providers of choice in their markets,” stated Matthew Schmitt, Vice President, Lab Services, CableLabs. “We value Averna’s efforts to provide DOCSIS 3.1 testing equipment, which will help DOCSIS 3.1 equipment manufacturers get products to market as quickly as possible.”
