Superior Sensor Technology announced production shipments of a customised HV Series differential pressure sensor for Triatek's EcoAir Valve.

Based on Superior Sensor’s HV Series pressure sensor technology, the custom sensor for Triatek allows the EcoAir Valve to support up to seven pressure ranges with high accuracy, which means the valve can be used in a broader range of applications. The sensor’s support for multiple pressure ranges also simplifies system design and manufacturing of the EcoAir Valve.

“Superior Sensor Technology has set a new performance bar with its differential pressure sensor technology by providing extremely high accuracy and unmatched design flexibility,” commented Auri Aniulis, Product Manager, Triatek. “The ability to create a custom sensor solution optimized for our EcoAir Valve Module has significantly improved our system performance.”

The EcoAir Valve is a powerful, ultra-low pressure drop valve designed with airflow sensing and debris-proof technology. This valve provides safety, reliability, and energy efficiency for critical environment HVAC designs. The EcoAir Valve can be used in tandem with Venturi Valves in healthcare and laboratory applications.

Furthermore, the valve uses the EcoAir Valve Module (EVM) to enable compatibility and interoperability with all controllers independent of their protocol. The unique blade design results in a high 100:1 air flow turn-down ratio with more resolute control at the near closed position. The debris proof design does not have sensors in the airstream, which protects sensors from getting blocked and does not require an access panel to clean the valve.

Superior Sensor’s custom solution enables the valve to provide fast (<1sec) and accurate (±5% of total flow) airflow control across an unprecedented range of 0.1inWC to 6inWC, reportedly a historic first in air valve technology.

HV Series Differential Pressure Sensor technology is based on the company’s NimbleSense architecture, an intelligent system-in-a-sensor technology that offers manufacturers a high-performance, configurable, flexible sensor solution. Designed for HVAC equipment, the HV series supports up to eight pressure ranges from 0.1” H2O up to 60” H2O (25 Pa to 15 kPa) with industry leading accuracy of 0.05% and TEB of <0.10% of each selected range. This capability offers manufacturers advantages such as more flexibility in their product designs and greatly reduces time to market and costs associated with product manufacturing.
