Caravan owners with a tyre pressure monitoring system fitted not only have peace of mind while on the road, but also benefit from lower insurance premiums. Currently, Caravan Guard, Club Care, Crusader, Shield and Lifesureoffer a 5% discount on caravans and motor homes fitted with TyrePal Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS).
Using monitors that are included as standard with Unicorn and as an optional extra with Pegasus, caravan owners can check the pressure and temperature of tyres that have been factory-fitted with the internal sensors. When the caravan is in motion, the system alerts drivers if there are any problems such as: rapid pressure loss, low or high tyre pressure and high tyre or wheel temperature. Owners can also purchase additional sensors to monitor spare tyres from just £33.
“There are around a million caravan owners in the UK and most of them will take their caravan out on the road over the summer months,” explained Josh Budding, Business Development Director at TyrePal’s parent company, Wheel Solutions.
He added when towing a caravan, tyre pressure monitoring is particularly important because it is difficult to gauge tyre levels by feel alone. A slow puncture can easily develop into a blowout if it goes unnoticed.
“When it came to choosing a supplier to partner with, the decision was easy,” commented Simon Howard, Marketing Director at Bailey of Bristol, “TyrePal is highly regarded in the industry and has several years of experience in providing after-market systems for caravans, motor homes and other vehicles.”
“TyrePal’s TPMS allow drivers to scroll through all caravan wheels individually and displays both pressure and temperature on an easy to use in-cab monitor. I would recommend TyrePal to all caravan users,” Howard concluded.
Customers can retrofit TyrePal’s TPMSs to single and twin axel caravans as well as large and small motor homes.
