ADI demonstrations at IoT Solutions World Congress will include sensor, network and low power microprocessor technology. In the full sensor to cloud solutions we demonstrate healthcare, agriculture and third party IoT solutions from Victotee, IoTeam and Honeywell.
Reliable, low power wireless network
ADI will be showcasing its highly reliable and low power SmartMesh a wireless sensor network. In Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) applications, sensors must be placed in locations optimal for measurement, not for communications (e.g. on vibrating pumps/motors, on vehicles, in multi-story commercial buildings, in industrial processing plants, or in power plants).
The demo shows precise time synchronisation across a multi-hop network, a foundational building block for very low duty cycling (for low power) and channel hopping (for reliability).
Industrial IoT applications require sensor nodes to operate reliably for multiple years. Communications down-time means costly technician visits or in some cases, a production ‘lines-down’ problem.
SmartMesh solves the ‘last mile’ wireless communications to place sensors/controllers in tough RF environments. SmartMesh is field-proven with over 60,000 customer networks in over 120 countries in such applications as data centre energy efficiency, rail-car condition monitoring, smart-parking, smart agriculture and airport fueling applications. Each individual blinking light is controlled by a wireless node using precise time synchronisation. The network uses time synchronisation to automatically schedule data traffic with low duty cycling and with channel hopping. Applications may also use time synchronisation for precise timestamping of sensor data.
