Standex-Meder announces its MK15 magnetically operated reed proximity sensor for SMD mounting, suitable for PCBs where all components are surface-mounted. Designed for high requirement applications, the MK15 allows position detecting and proximity sensing in medical products and safety components. The sensor is also excellent for telecomms, white goods, industrial and automotive applications such as meter counting sensors, lid detectors and alarm sensors.

With its compact size, only 19.5x2.5x2.5mm, and efficient internal structure, the MK15 is excellent for low-power operations, requiring no external power for sensor operation. Two lead designs are available: flat, straight leads for PCB slot mounting and flat, bent to Gull-Wing SMD leads. This product is also available in six operating sensitivities.

The sensors are supplied taped and reeled according to IEC 286-3, suitable for auto-placement. The magnetic pull-in sensitivity is divided into several classes at 5AT steps each, beginning from 10AT.
