Mouser Electronics is now stocking the SP1012 TVS Diode Array from Littelfuse. It is one of the first general‑purpose electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection devices of its kind to pack five ESD diodes inside a Flip Chip (FCiP) package, a 5x improvement over previous implementations. This miniature, five-channel bidirectional TVS array is densely designed and can help developers reduce printed circuit board (PCB) space and costs due to its small 0402-size square millimeter footprint.

The device provides circuit protection by safely absorbing repetitive ESD strikes at the maximum level (Level 4) specified in the IEC 61000‑4‑2 international standard without any performance degradation. The bidirectional configuration provides symmetrical ESD protection for data lines when AC signals are present.

The diode array provides greater than ±15kV protection per the IEC61000-4-2 international standard, giving developers higher product reliability. For electrical fast transient (EFT) ratings, the SP1012 is specified at 40A (5/50ns) per the EC61000-4-4 international standard.

The device is also co-terminated, permitting flexible ground pad layout. The SP1012’s very low 0.48 ohms dynamic resistance supports the low clamping voltages needed for protecting modern day electronics.

It features a capacitance of 6.5pF with bidirectional polarity, while offering a nominal 6V standoff voltage. This provides protection on 95% of both current and future user interfaces. The device has an operating temperature of -40°C to +125°C, and is available through Mouser Electronics in a small, 0.94 mm x 0.61 mm Flip Chip (FCiP) package that fits 0402 footprints.

Applications include SIM card interfaces, wearable technologies, and data lines used for capacitive touchscreen displays on smartphones and tablets.
