Current sensor simplifies design, saves PCB space

In stock at distributor Mouser Electronics is the CT110 XtremeSense sensor from Crocus Technology

This high-linearity and high-resolution contact current sensor is designed with patented, state-of-the-art XtremeSense tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) technology.

The sensor measures the current flowing through the DFN package via its integrated Current-Carrying Conductor (CCC) and converts it to an analogue ratiometric output voltage representing the current.

Additionally, the sensor delivers performance with a typical total output error of less than ±0.5% and a capability of sensing current as low as 5mA providing unmatched resolution.

Crocus says the single-chip solution simplifies design, PCB layout and saves PCB area.

The device can support up to +15.0A of AC and DC, making it ideal for replacing shunt resistors plus isolation amplifiers.

Applications include Internet of Things (IoT) devices, LED lighting products, power tools, drones, battery charger systems, and PCs and servers.
