In stock at authorised distributor Mouser Electronics is the WSEN-ISDN 6-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) from Würth Elektronik.

This IMU is a 16-bit digital ultra-low power and high-performance sensor featuring a 3-axis accelerometer and a 3-axis gyroscope, with selectable measuring ranges and data rates.

It facilitates integration, with output and processed data pre-calibrated, for application-specific functionalities like localisation and navigation for robotics, drones, automation, industrial tools, machines, antenna, platform stabilisation and Industrial IoT (IIoT) devices.

The Würth Elektronik WSEN-ISDN 6-axis IMU includes free-fall, wake-up, tap, activity, motion, tilt, and orientation detection functionalities, featuring linear and angular acceleration measurement, extending from single-event registration to high-frequency continuous vibration monitoring.

User-selectable acceleration measurement ranges of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, ±16g and an angular rate range of ±125 dps, ±250 dps, ±500 dps, ±1000 dps, ±2000 degrees per second enhance design versatility.

Selectable data rates up to 937 Hz for the gyroscope and up to 1400 Hz for the accelerometer, with a built-in FIFO buffer to store the output data rate up to 6.6kHz, further enhancing flexibility in the design process.

The sensor features ultra-small dimensions (2.5 mm × 3.0 mm × 0.86 mm), an embedded temperature sensor and is available in a land grid array (LGA) package.

The Würth Elektronik WSEN-EVAL evaluation board provides the opportunity to verify the sensor performance and develop fast prototyping using an extension board. This evaluation board is designed to be used with either the Sensor Shield for Arduino (2501000101291) or the Sensor FeatherWing (2501000201291).

The evaluation board can also be mounted on a breadboard using through-hole pin header connections.
