Ameridrives, Stromag, Svendborg Brakes, Twiflex and Warner Electric have been brought together to deliver a single, global service for the wind market. WindEnergy Hamburg 2018 will be the first time that these brands have been promoted under the Altra Renewables division of Altra Industrial Motion. Stand visitors have the opportunity to speak to sales engineers and senior managers to learn about the division’s combined engineering capabilities and global aftermarket servicing.

Those that time their visit right can also enjoy a traditional Danish hot dog. Visit Altra Renewables in Hall B1, Stand 412, at the Hamburg Messe: 25th – 28th September.

Many of the show’s visitors will already be familiar with the power transmission components each of the brands produces. Yaw brakes, rotor brakes, shaft locking devices, high-speed couplings, limit switches, actuators etc. will all be on display with product experts available to discuss their capabilities.

However, thanks to the combined engineering and manufacturing capabilities of the brands, Altra Renewables is also offering a selection of turnkey solutions specific for the wind market. As an example, the LBS yaw brake lifting and installation tool was developed by Svendborg Brakes to simplify and speed up the process of installing and servicing yaw brakes.

Of particular use in off-shore environments where access is extremely limited, the LBS allows yaw brakes to be replaced in-situ. Further, Altra Renewables will be launching a gearbox cooling system that maximises output and efficiency by keeping the nacelle at the optimum temperature.

Steven Olsen, Managing Director of Altra Renewables, commented: “Each of our brands holds an established position in the market with its own range of products and its own technical expertise. By combing our capabilities, we offer a unique proposition to OEMs and end users as a manufacturer, installer and service provider for the complete power train with facilities in Europa, Asia, North America and South America.”
