HEV: new high-DC relay for switching of solar strings

Panasonic is one of the leading manufacturers for switching solutions for solar AC/DC inverters. The portfolio of solutions for both the AC and the DC side is unmatched.

The new HEV relay responds to the general trend towards higher efficiency and safety on the DC side.

By implementing a blow out magnet and using solid-gas plastics it has been possible to design a compact and cost-effective relay. The relay can switch load voltages of up to 1,000VDC with currents of up to 20A reliably and safely. The double-pin design allows easy installation on the PC board of the solar AC/DC inverter.

-Very compact size: 50 x 41 x 39 mm
-Contact arrangement: 2 Form A / Contacts are connected in series to switch off the solar string
-Switching capacity: up to 20A/1,000VDC
-Very low holding power: 213mW
-Connection method: Double-pin pcb terminals
-Contact opening: min. 2.5mm / suitable for higher voltages in the future
