Analog Devices has introduced the first model in a series of high-voltage, low-noise, zero-drift, precision operational amplifiers that reduce system noise, cost, board space, and development time by providing on-chip EMI filtering and eliminating the need for calibration circuitry. The dual-channel ADA4522-2 op amp operates within a supply voltage range of 4.5-55V and exhibits noise performance that is at least 35% better than its closest competitor.

The device provides the ease-of-use of a precision op amp with the ultra-low offset and drift of a zero-drift op amp. The ADA4522-2 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including current sensing in electronic loads, power supplies and motor control and offset correction in composite amplifiers used in instrumentation and other applications.

The op amp offers low noise of just 5.8nV/√Hz at 1kHz typ, low offset of 5μV max at 25°C, low offset voltage drift of 22nV/°C max and a bandwidth of 2.7MHz GBP. The amp features a high chopping frequency of 1.5MHz for wider closed-loop bandwidth and easy filtering.

The ADA4522-2 is available in sample and production quantities immediately, with SOIC-8 and MSOP-8 packaging options, at a price of $1.46 per unit in 1,000 unit quantities. The ADA4522-4 is available now for samples and will be available in production quantities in September 2015, pachaged in either TSSOP-14 of SOIC-14, priced at $3.14 each in 1,000 unit quantities.
