Powersolve has announced a wide selection of external power supplies designed specifically for use with medical equipment. Made up of five product families, the new medically approved power supplies all meet UL, cUL2601-1 and EN60601-1 safety approvals and EMC standards to EN55011 or EN55022 “B” and FCC”B”.

Power outputs range from 30 to 100W so practically every desktop or plug-top medical systems application, including battery charging, will be covered by Powersolve’s new product offering.

The PPT30M Series of 30W plug-top supplies come with four interchangeable clip-on AC plugs for the UK, Europe, USA and Australia. Input is from 90 to 264AC and outputs are 5, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 24VDC.

The PSEM50 Series of desk-top supplies provide up to 50W and are ideally suited for use in medical instrumentation systems. Any single output from 2 to 50VDC can be supplied and dual and triple output versions are also available.

The DPS50-M Series provides up to 60W with single DC outputs of 5, 12, 15, 24 and 48V. Inlet is the standard 3-pin IEC320 and Powersolve can provide a selection of output connectors.

With power outputs up to 100W, the PSEM100 Series includes single, double and triple output versions ranging from 3.3 to 24VDC. These desk-top power supplies include the standard IEC320 inlet and can be supplied with a variety of output connectors. They feature overvoltage and overcurrent protection and, unusually for desk-top units, an on-off switch is incorporated.

The ED1048 3-stage 12V battery charger is also approved for use in medical applications. Input is the standard 90 to 264VAC, output power is a maximum of 60W and it comes with a standard IEC 320 inlet and can be supplied with an optional output connector.
