Lanner Electronics has launched next-gen rugged, fanless V3 series vehicle gateway controllers - V3G and V3S. While V3G is targeted for smart bus implementation, including fleet management and passenger information display, V3S aims at video surveillance, recording and analytics. The V3 series gateways can operate under wide temperature range (-40 to 70°C), indicating their reliability in harsh environment.

The V3G and V3S feature the new generation 14nm Intel Atom x7-E3950 SoC (formerly Apollo Lake). This processor consumes low volume of power and offers performance upgrade for vehicle computing needs from previous generation of Atom processors.

The V3G boasts an abundance of I/O peripheral connectivity including two serial COM ports, two video output by DVI-D, USB and Digital I/O ports, two RJ-45 LAN ports and SATA/mSATA storage options.

To enable wireless network connectivity, V3G offers two mini-PCIe sockets with swappable SIM slot supporting 3G/4G/LTE cellular communications. In addition, the compact system comes with an option of CAN bus for concerns of driving behaviour analysis.

Designed for In-vehicle Surveillance NVR, the V3S offers two GbE RJ45 ports plus four RJ-45 PoE ports for IP camera connection, and removable 2.5”HDD/SSD drive bay for storage. For wireless connectivity, V3S is internally built with one full-sized Mini-PCIe with dual SIM card reader, one half-sized Mini-PCIe, and one external Mini-PCIe 3.0 with dual SIM card readers.

Since vehicles are constantly in motion, non-flat road surfaces may be frequently encountered. By taking this into considerations, V3 Series is compliant with E13 standard and has passed MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration resistance certifications to ensure proper operations when traveling on non-flat surfaces.

Temperature is another concern when installed within a vehicle interior. Therefore, V3 Series is built to support wide temperature range, from -40 to 70°C.
