AEG Power Solutions has announced the next generation of its Protect C series of UPS, which it will be demonstrating at CeBIT 2014. The new model of AEG Power Solutions’ reliable and durable Protect C has an improved power factor of 0.8 and power steps of 1000, 2000 and 3000 VA, while still maintaining the compact design of its predecessor.

The UPS is easy to use, with a graphical multilingual LCD that shows UPS mode, parameters and measurements, and which provides flexible features as a configuration panel, with password protection. A hardware based internal data logger provides a clear text display including date and time history.

“With these latest improvements, we have taken our proven UPS technology and further developed its specifications and features, while making the system straightforward to configure and use with an LCD panel and data logger,” says Dirk Schneider, Business Director Compact-UPS at AEG Power Solutions. “The new Protect C models provide reliability, ruggedness and performance across a wide range of IT applications.”

Communication capabilities have been improved, with an additional USB port and EPO contact, and operation of the USB / RS232 interface and extension slot in parallel now supported for dual monitoring.

The UPS has VFI / true double-conversion topology to guarantee stable supply of all kind of loads in the SMB segment, such as workstations, servers and storage systems.

Meeting today’s demands for a flexible UPS system, Protect C can operate in an ECO mode, achieving efficiency of over 93%, or as a frequency converter. An extremely wide input voltage range extends down to 110 V AC and up to 300 V AC without use of the integrated battery system at most stable output voltage.

Shipment includes a complete set of cables for mains, loads and communication, AEG Power Solutions’ CompuWatch shutdown and management software, as well as printed multilingual safety and operation instructions. 36 months warranty with replacement service in advance is provided for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (D-A-CH region), with 24 months warranty worldwide.
