DC/DC converters target rail, telecoms applications

Murata’s RUW15 Series DC/DC convertors are now available at TTI. Suited for rail, industrial and telecommunications applications, where variable input voltages or high transient voltages are present, the converters are capable of withstanding surges from 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 90V and 110V systems, largely eliminating the need for input protection circuitry.

The converters feature short circuit protection, over temperature protection and over voltage protection.

Optional features include a Power Fail/DC OK signal and circuitry to facilitate long hold-up times with a small external capacitor across ± Vint pins.

Six different models are available in the RUW5 Series, depending on output voltage requirements.

The Series is compatible with RoHS soldering systems with a peak wave solder temperature of 260degC for 10 seconds. Physical characteristics include gold flash over nickel preplate pin termination finish.

The Series is backward compatible with Sn/Pb soldering systems, with tinned tabs along the case edges to provide mechanical support through slots in the PCB. UL 60950 recognition for reinforced insulation is pending.
