Each of the new drivers features an on-chip voltage regulator that facilitates the creation of complete stepper motor control designs using a single motor power supply of up to 40V. Further design flexibility results from the ability to select 2-phase, 1-2-phase or W1-2-phase excitation modes. On-board thermal and overcurrent shutdown and a power on reset (POR) function helps to keep board space and component count to a minimum.
Manufactured using Toshiba’s proprietary BiCD process, the TB62213FNG and TB62215FNG incorporate DMOS FETs as output power transistors. The ICs, which are supplied in 48-pin HTSSOP packages, will suit applications ranging from office automation equipment and vending machines to arcade games and card readers.
