With three outputs of rated current at 3, 2 and 2A, the TPS65261 provides 82% light load efficiency at 10mA and features an adjustable switching frequency from 250kHz to 2MHz with pulse skipping. Featuring two integrated 200 and 100mA LDO voltage linear regulators to simplify board layout, the TPS65262 provides fixed 600kHz switching operation and offers three outputs of rated current at 3, 1 and 1A.
Both step-down switching regulators feature a 4.5-18V input supply voltage range for intermediate bus voltages operating from 5, 9, 12 or 15V power buses or batteries. The constant frequency peak current mode simplifies design and enables system optimisation. The TPS65261 and TPS65262 also feature a 0.6V feedback reference supporting processors demanding lower output voltage and integrate automatic power up/down sequencing to simplify power control.
Supplied in a 32-pin 5x5x9mm QFN package (which is 44% smaller than the previous generation), the TPS65261 is priced at $1.90 (USD) and the TPS65262 is priced at $2.05 (USD) in 1,000 unit quantities. Texas Instruments also offers the TPS65261EVM and TPS65262EVM evaluation modules.
