Switching power supplies provide up to 100W
Carlo Gavazzi has extended its portfolio of rail-mounted power supplies with a family of 4 compact housings covering all power and voltage requirements from 7.5 to 100W with 5/12/15/24VDC output. The new SPM series of switching power supplies complements the company's automation and control offerings for domestic and commercial buildings, as well as other automation applications such as doors, gates, lifts and escalators.
At just 55mm high, the units range from 1 to 5 DIN modules wide and have a low profile suitable for flush fitting in standard distribution boxes and consumer boards. Efficiency is up to 89%, which reduces energy wastage and prevents excessive heating in the enclosure. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60°C and higher temperatures can be tolerated by de-rating the units.
Models rated over 10W feature a voltage output potentiometer on the front panel, enabling fine adjustment of the output voltage and allowing users to compensate for voltage drops with long cable runs. Also, the front panel carries a green LED to indicate correct operation, together with a red lamp to show low-voltage conditions.
The majority of models - including the 24V DC, 91W version - comply with UL1310 Class 2 safety requirements. All are approved to relevant European and North American standards for safety, EMC and EMI and are certified Class B to EN55022. They carry TUV, CE and cULus marks.
