Schurter, a Swiss manufacturer of electronic components, has expanded its DG11 power entry module line with a new variant incorporating integrated magnetic overcurrent protection.
The upgrade aims to simplify circuit protection in demanding industrial and medical environments.
The new DG11 module features a magnetic release in its TA35 circuit breaker, providing protection against very high overcurrents such as short circuits. By combining this with the existing thermal bimetal principle, Schurter says the module eliminates the need for additional fuses. The module is offered in both slow- and fast-acting variants to suit a range of applications.
Designed for harsh conditions, the DG11 is rated IP67, making it splash-proof and dust-tight. The mains connection cable and module itself are fitted with specialised gaskets, ensuring reliable operation even in environments exposed to dirt, dust, or moisture.
The module also incorporates Schurter’s V-Lock cord retention system, preventing accidental disconnection of the power supply. According to the company, this combination of safety and durability makes the DG11 suitable for industrial settings and medical applications where frequent cleaning and disinfection are required.
