Designed for applications in harsh environments, particularly those outdoors, the TEX-120 series of ruggedised industrial power supplies has been announced by Powersolve. The TEX120-112 (12V) and TEX120-124 (24V) series provide maximum outputs of 96 and 120W, respectively, and come in a die-cast aluminium housing rated to IP67 and NEMA 4X. This ensures that the power source is impervious to water, ice, oil and dust.

Input is via a universal 85 to 264VAC and output voltage is 12V (adjustable from 12-15V) for the 96W version and 24V (adjustable from 24-28V) for the 120W unit.

The power supplies are constructed to be shock and vibration proof, making them suitable for machine mounting etc, while ease of installation is provided by the use of waterproof I/O plug connectors. Since the die-cast housing acts as an efficient heatsink, the units can be run at full power at ambient temperatures from -40 to +85°C (with derating above 60ºC). A DC-OK indicator is incorporated and dimensions, including fixing lugs, are 174x93x56mm and weight is 1kg.
