RECOM cost-efficient and reliable 140W AC/DC

RECOM has introduced chassis-mount AC/DCs featuring high peak power rating, case, and connector options.

Users now have the choice to select a fully featured chassis mount AC/DC from RECOM with comprehensive certifications at a low price point. The new RACM140E-K range is available as an open-frame or optionally enclosed part, sized 147 x 81.5 x 38mm (40mm enclosed) with industry-standard 3² x 5² fixing positions and additional mounting wingers. Terminations are by pin header or optionally push-in connectors for enclosed versions allowing easy integration in the end application. Input is universal AC and single outputs available are 12, 15, 24, 36, or 48VDC, rated 140W continuous (36V/136.8W) and 210W peak for ten seconds for loads with high surge currents. Output voltage can be adjusted typically +/-20% via a board-mounted trim potentiometer.

Certifications include IEC/EN60335-1, IEC/EN62368-1, and IEC/EN ANSI/AAMI60601-1 for medical applications rated 2MOPP and BF with low touch and leakage currents. EMC compliance is comprehensive, including ‘Class B’ with a good margin for conducted emissions. The parts are rated for pollution degree 2 environments and over-voltage category III up to 2000m altitude and OVC II to 5000m. Operating temperature is -40°C to +90°C with natural convection, with derating depending on variant. No load consumption is typically 100mW and the parts meet eco-design requirements for loads in standby mode.

Typical product applications include building and home automation, datacom and telecom, medical, industrial, infrastructure, e-mobility and test and measurement.

“The RACM140E-K series is a great combination of performance, reliability and comprehensive certifications at a competitive price point”, comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. of RECOM. “The high boost power rating for ten seconds is a bonus for high surge loads, potentially avoiding the need for a larger and more expensive AC/DC.”
