PULS, the DIN-rail power supplies specialist , has added new tools for system designers to its website. In addition to full specifications of all of its power supplies and accessories, a new PULScast feature offers movie clips explaining power supply technology and functionality. The other new website feature is downloadable CAD drawings of all PULS DIN-Rail power supplies.

The PULS Cinema feature currently has four movie clips to assist power supply users to specify the correct power supply and provides clear explanations of common terminology. The Bonus Power clip gives insights the best use of available power in order to avoid costly over-specification or wasteful and unnecessary “future-proofing”. A discussion of the two most common forms of output overload protection sheds light on their relative merits in the Fold Over vs Hiccup movie. The Efficiency PULScast explains the benefits of high efficiency power supplies and their long term cost effectiveness and the final clip covers correct use of N+1 redundancy for no-break power systems in critical applications.

Another new section on the website will be of particular assistance to mechanical designers laying out chassis and cabinets. Full “wire-frame” CAD drawings may now be downloaded from the PULS website for use with all proprietary CAD software packages.

Harry Moore, Managing Director of PULS UK comments, “There are a number of common questions we get asked by our customers as well as many application issues and urban-myths that we regularly have to help system designers with. Our PULScasts will offer easy to access to advice and assistance and more topics will be will be made available soon to make the PULS website an indispensable source of information for system designers. We also have added downloadable CAD drawings of our products in response to customer requests to simplify and speed up their design cycle.”
