UNIPOWER Europe announces two significant additions to its successful PowerCassette® switching power supply family. The PCP7000-POE and TPCP7000-POE are respectively chassis-mount and hot-swap power supplies designed specifically for the growing Power over Ethernet (PoE) marketplace.
Both models meet the requirements of IEEE 802.3af which defines the specifications to deliver power over standard Ethernet cables.

At 1U high, these compact units offer 48VDC at 1200W - a power density of 15Win³ - with full power factor correction, and up to three hot-swap units can be housed together in a 19in rack to give a total power output of 3600W. Input voltage range is the universal 85 to 264VAC and all models feature a 5V standby output. Output isolation (an important requirement for PoE applications) is 1500VAC.

With an ambient operating temperature range of 0 to 70ºC and cooling by integral fans, the new PowerCassettes incorporate a number of features designed to simplify their application. These include active current sharing, LED status indicators and optional I²C serial data bus control and monitoring.
