Power-One Joins Distributed Open Standards Alliance

Power-One has announced that it has joined DOSA (Distributed Open Standards Alliance). DOSA was established in February 2004 to develop standards for board-level DC-DC converters to ensure compatibility and facilitate second sourcing for customers.

Bill Yeates, Power-One’s CEO, commented, “Power-One is looking forward to contributing to DOSA. We welcome the opportunity to enhance our broad line of board-level DC-DC solutions with products specifically developed in collaboration with this important, customer-focused industry alliance. We strongly believe that Power-One’s DOSA membership will be in the best interests of our customers, and our company.”

“DOSA membership now includes twelve of the world’s largest and best known DC-DC converter manufacturers,” said Sabi Varma, general manager Tyco Electronics’ Power Systems business. “DOSA has established itself as the leading industry alliance and the de facto standard for DC/DC converter modules.” Tyco is a founding member of DOSA.
