Power amplifier achieves 42% power-added efficiency.

RFMW has announced design and sales support for medium power driver amplifier from Qorvo’s QGaN15 0.15 um GaN on SiC process.

Operating from 8 to 12 GHz, the QPA2611 delivers > 5 W of saturated output power and 25 dB of large-signal gain while achieving an impressive 42% power-added efficiency.

Suitable for driving Qorvo’s high performing GaN HPAs in Radar, communications and EW applications, the QPA2611 is packaged in a small 5 x 5 mm plastic overmould QFN.

Tight lattice spacing requirements for phased array radar applications is easily supported. RF input and output ports are matched to 50Ω with integrated DC blocking capacitors.

The device draws 105 mA from a 24 Volt supply.
