Plug-in PSU offers high power density without fan cooling

The latest addition to Schroff’s ecopower range of AC/DC switch-mode regulators is a compact 200W plug-in unit that takes up just half the width of a conventional power supply of this performance level and yet is able to achieve an efficiency of 90% using only convection cooling. Particularly aimed at datacom and telecom applications, the new SEC148-200 power supply provides a main output of 48V, together with a battery-charging output of 56V.

The 6HP-wide PSU is designed for mounting in a 3U-high subrack and can be used in hot-swap capable systems. Since it operates without fan cooling, it achieves a high MTBF and is therefore ideal for high-availability n+1 redundant applications.

When used with active power factor correction according to EN 61000-3-2, the SEC148-200 can achieve efficiency levels as high as 98%. The PSU features a wide input voltage range of 90 to 256V AC and can be specified with an optional integrated microcontroller to provide monitoring, control and alarm functionality.

All ecopower SEC148-200 power supplies undergo fully automatic testing, including AOI and burn-in for a minimum of 8 hours, to ensure the high quality of the product.
