Murata Power Solutions adds new wide input voltage range 6 and 10A models to its Okami PoL DC/DC converter range

The 6A OKR-T/6 and the 10A OKR-T/10-W12 are the latest additions to Murata Power Solutions’ range of Okami non-isolated Point-of-Load (PoL) DC/DC power converters. The SIP packaged though-hole mounting miniature devices combine a wide input voltage range with programmable output voltage to give engineers a high degree of flexibility in their designs.

The comprehensive Okami range of PoL DC/DC power converters offers designers a choice of 3A, 6A and 10A modules in both through-hole and surface mount formats. The use of common, industry-standard pinouts across the range helps simplify inclusion of the devices in both existing and new designs. Applications include the powering of ASICs, FPGAs, DSPs, microprocessors and communications ICs in both datacom and industrial equipment.

Based on 600 kHz synchronous buck topology, the OKR-T/6 and the OKR-T/10-W12 offer high power conversion efficiencies of 93% and 92% respectively. Both modules are able to drive up to 200 µF capacitive loads.

Output voltage is programmable from 0.591 to 6.0 VDC and the modules are able to operate from a wide input voltage range of 4.5 to 14 VDC. The OKR-T/6 and the OKR-T/10-W12 deliver outstanding thermal derating performance and feature over temperature and over current protection, On/Off control, and under voltage lock out (UVLO).

Overall dimensions for both are 10.4mm (0.41in.) x 16.5mm (0.65in.) x 7.62mm (0.3in.). Operating temperature range is –40 °C to +85 °C. The units are designed to meet UL/EN/EC 60950-1 safety and FCC EMI/RFI emissions certifications and are RoHS-6 compliant.
