Power-Blox off-grid energy cubes will be a highlight on Stäubli's stand at the DVD 2018 defence equipment exhibition this September. The innovative energy storage system can deliver 230VAC at powers from 200W through to the kilowatt range.

The standalone energy cubes house an integrated battery and can be stacked and plugged together to automatically configure a private mini-grid. With a decentralised architecture and no central control, additional units can easily be added as power requirements increase.

The system uses swarm technology, and can serve as a ‘portable socket’ to meet off-grid energy requirements. The rugged cubes are ideal for supplying power to mobile or temporary military installations or emergency aid stations.

The Power-Blox 200 system is self-learning and self-configuring, and regulates power production, storage and distribution within its grid intelligently and autonomously. It is infinitely scalable, without requiring configuration, engineering or maintenance, and different energy sources such as solar power and wind energy can be easily combined.

Also on the Stäubli stand will be the CombiTac modular connector system. These rugged connectors are resistant to shock and vibration and can be fitted with any combination of high voltage, high current, data, fibre optic, power, thermocouple, coaxial and even pneumatic and fluid modules.

The DVD 2018 exhibition, aimed at those involved in equipment and support for the UK's land forces, takes place at the Millbrook Proving Ground, Bedfordshire, on 19th and 20th September 2018. Stäubli can be found on Stand C3-410.
