Nu Horizons expands power business with Murata deal

Nu Horizons Electronics has extended its long-standing franchise agreement with Murata Power Solutions (previously known as C&D Technologies) to the European market. The distributor previously held the franchise in North America and Asia. The deal will add DC/DC converters rated from 0.25W to 300W and AC/DC power supplies from 200W to 2kW to the Nu Horizons power offering. Initial design-in activity will focus on point-of-load (POL) converters for embedded systems in both industrial and communications markets. The Murata Power Solutions range includes POL parts rated from 6A to 40A.

Andy Barber, EMEA Distribution Manger for Murata Power Solutions, said, “Nu Horizons has a very strong focus on power. They provide our customers with a design-led, technically astute personnel, and the support of a global supplier. We expect the value we jointly deliver to customers in other parts of the world to be quickly replicated in Europe.”

Nu Horizons’ European Marketing Director, Gerry Hewitt, added, “This agreement is particularly important in expanding our DC/DC product line-up. We now have market-leading franchises in just about every power technology area. This means exceptional choice for our customers, backed up by expert technical support from the Nu Horizons power team.”
