SL Power Electronics Corporation, the company established following the merger of Condor DC Power and Ault, announces new families of external power supplies that meet the EPA ENERGY STAR program requirements. The new product families are in the 6 to 60W power range and are suited to both medical and commercial applications.

Commenting on the new introductions, Andrew Fanara of the EPA ENERGY STAR program said, “The EPA is grateful to companies like SL Power Electronics that place a priority on energy efficiency. The company leads a handful of external power supply manufacturers that have products which meet the ENERGY STAR requirements. In the United States and Worldwide, more efficient designs will save energy, save money and help combat the risk of global warming.”

The specification for ENERGY STAR-qualified external power adaptors was launched in January 2005 to address the growing energy use from the proliferation of consumer and office electronic products that use power adaptors. Since that time, many of the Ault-branded products have been redesigned to meet these strict requirements – resulting in an estimated 35% greater efficiency as well as adaptors that are often smaller and lighter than conventional models.

“Increasing energy efficiency is important to our customers and we are committed to providing them with the most advanced power supply solutions,” says SL Power’s European Managing Director Nigel Davies. We all need to be aware of the ENERGY STAR program and its consequences for the global electronics industry and we also need to take note of the up-coming European Energy Usage Program that will impact all of us involved in providing power sources. The more efficient we can make our products, the better for all involved.” Adds Davies.
