New ITZ series of compact regulated 9W DC/DC converters
XP Power has announced the ITZ series of compact regulated 9W DC/DC converters. Believed to be the industry’s smallest 9W DC/DC converters, the units accommodate an ultra-wide 4:1 input and are available with single and dual outputs. Packaged in an ultra-compact metal cased SIP-8 package measuring just 21.9x11.2x9.6mm (0.86x0.44x0.38”), the converters are up to 89% efficient and have a power density of 44W per cubic inch.
With their high efficiency, no additional heat sink components or forced airflow is required, ensuring that the converter occupies the smallest footprint possible, a key criteria of today’s space constrained designs.
The series offers two 4:1 input range options of either 9-36VDC or 18-75VDC, covering all the popular nominal input voltages of 12, 24 and 48VDC. Single output models are available with 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15, or 24VDC. Duals provide ±5, ±12 or ±15VDC. No minimum load is required.
Input to output isolation is rated at 1.5k VDC across the range, and optionally, 3k VDC isolation is available on –H models. Suiting use in most environments, the ITZ series can operate across the extended temperature range from – 40 to 85°C and deliver the full output power up to 60°.
A remote on/off function provides the ability to externally control the converter such as for sequencing start-up or automatically powering it on or off. All model meets EN55032 level A for conducted and radiated noise without any additional components.
Typical applications for the ITZ series include mobile, portable and wireless products, and any low power use case where isolation and DC voltage conversion is required.
