MPS Releases 24V, 1.4MHz Step-Down Regulator in TSOT-23

Monolithic Power Systems (MPS) announces the immediate availability of the MP2359, a 1A non-synchronous step-down regulator with a wide 4.5V – 24V input voltage range. This device provides the industry’s smallest solution footprint by integrating a 350mohm power switch, 1.4MHz PWM oscillator, boost diode, and loop compensation. A complete solution requires just seven external components. The MP2359 is ideally suited for space constrained applications operating from poorly regulated AC/DC converters or multi-cell batteries.

Consuming just 0.8mA of supply current, the MP2359 achieves an operating efficiency greater than 90%. The output voltage is adjustable between 0.8V to 15V to meet current and future voltage requirements. The device is offered in a compact TSOT-23 package.

Additional features of the MP2359 include cycle-by-cycle current limit, under voltage lockout, and thermal shutdown. Samples and evaluation boards are in stock now. Pricing for the MP2359 begins at $1.20 in 1K piece quantities.
