Miniature encapsulated AC/DCs have extended specifications

PCB-mount and wired AC/DCs rated 6W peak suit a wide range of applications.

The RAC04NE-K series of encapsulated AC/DC converters released by RECOM is rated 4W continuous, without derating, across the full input range of 100VAC to 277VAC nominals and from –40°C to +80°C, while 6W peak is available for limited durations.
These characteristics make the modules suitable for a wide range of demanding but cost-sensitive applications including building/home automation, lighting, datacom/telecom, e-mobility, industrial, and many more. Additional features include Class II insulation, OVCIII rating to 3,000m, enhanced line transient immunity and compliance with conducted EMI standard EN55032 Class B, with a floating or ground-connected output.

Fully regulated output voltages available are 5, 9, 12, 15, and 24V and the products are offered in a through-hole PCB mount format, 37 x 24 x 18mm. Selected models are also available in a wired format with mounting lugs, sized 37.8 x 24.8 x 18.7mm, encapsulated, and IP65-rated.

Comprehensive safety and EMC certifications are held for various end-applications, and the products feature secure protection against overload, short-circuits, and output over-voltage. Build quality is high to ensure reliable operation in demanding environments, with a calculated MTBF of over 2M hours at 40°C according to MIL-HDBK-217, GB conditions. The design lifetime is over 12 years at 230VAC, full load, and 50°C ambient temperature, backed up by the RECOM three-year warranty.

“These high-specification AC/DCs are easy to integrate into any global application where reliability, performance and cost are critical” comments Michael Schrutka, MSc. AC/DC Product Manager of RECOM.
