Maxim’s Low-Noise Step-Up Converter Delivers Up to 600mW

Maxim has introduced the MAX15032, constant-frequency, pulse-width modulated (PWM), low-noise step-up converter. Designed for low-voltage systems that require a locally generated high-voltage output, this device integrates a high-voltage DMOS power switch, allowing it to boost the output up to 36V and deliver 600mW (max) of power.

Additionally, it employs an internal charge-pump circuit to enable low-voltage operation from 2.7V to 11V. The MAX15032 is ideal for applications such as avalanche-photodiode, PIN-diode, and varactor-diode biasing. It is also well suited for set-top box audio IC supplies and LCD displays.

The MAX15032 utilizes a current-mode PWM architecture that switches at a constant 500kHz frequency to ease filtering requirements. A shutdown input allows for low power consumption.
