Isolated gate driver ICs offer many protection features
Mouser Electronics is now stocking EiceDRIVER X3 enhanced isolated gate driver ICs from Infineon Technologies.
Infineon EiceDRIVER X3 analogue (1ED34xx) and X3 digital (1ED38xx) gate driver ICs offer protection features such as DESAT, Miller clamp, and soft-off for MOSFETs, IGBTs, and SiC MOSFETs.
The Miller clamp and DESAT accurate short-circuit protection enable superior application safety by avoiding parasitic turn-on and short-circuit when driving CoolSiC SiC MOSFETs and TRENCHSTOP IGBT7.
The ICs offer 9A output current and 40Vmax output voltage in a space-saving DS0-16, fine-pitch, wide-body package with 8mm creepage.
These ICs feature short-circuit clamping and active shutdown and offer the highest isolation capability that can be used in a 1500V DC solar inverter application.
Applications for the EiceDRIVER X3 gate driver ICs include solar string inverters, electric vehicle (EV) charging, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), industrial drives, and power supplies for server and telecommunication systems.
