High-performing, efficient, and space-saving 36V operational amplifiers

STMicroelectronics has rolled out the TSB952 dual operational amplifier (op amp), featuring a 52MHz gain-bandwidth and a supply current of only 3.3mA per channel at 36V, making it an ideal choice for power-efficient designs.

The TSB952 has a wide supply-voltage range of 4.5 to 36V, offering design flexibility and the ability to operate from various power sources, including industry-standard voltage rails. This broad supply range also helps the system endure large transient spikes and voltage drops. With rail-to-rail output swing, these op amps are perfect for applications requiring a wide dynamic range, such as signal conditioning for power supplies.

Operating from -40 to 125°C, the TSB952 is suitable for industrial and automotive environments. STMicroelectronics plans to release AEC-Q101 qualified parts for automotive use later in 2024. All TSB952 devices feature a 4kV ESD tolerance (human body model) and are EMI hardened.

Available in an ultra-small 3 x 3mm DFN8 package with wettable flanks, the TSB952 saves space and supports cost-effective PCB designs. It is also offered in the widely-used SO8 package with standard pin assignments, simplifying the upgrade of existing designs for better performance and efficiency.

The industrial-grade versions in DFN8 and SO8 are already in production. The automotive-qualified versions will be available in Q3 2024. Pricing starts at $0.96 for orders of 1,000 units, and free samples can be obtained from the ST eStore. The TSB952 is part of ST’s 10-year longevity program, ensuring long-term product availability.
