uTCA and cPCI power solutions from Gresham Power

Gresham Power Electronics has today revealed that it is now established as a major supplier of market leading uTCA and CompactPCI power supplies to OEMs and system builders. Gresham Power will be making major new uTCA product announcements in the next few weeks complementing their existing highly successful, competitively priced cPCI power supplies.

To demonstrate its commitment to this rapidly developing market, Gresham are now Associate Members of PICMG, a consortium of companies who are collaboratively developing open specifications for high performance telecommunications and industrial computing applications.

Headquartered in Wakefield, Massachusetts, PICMG's purpose is to offer equipment vendors common specifications to ensure increased product availability, reduced system costs and faster time to market.

Our membership of PICMG ensures we are always fully aware of developments in all of the product standards and application areas under the PICMG umbrella. Our forthcoming MicroTCA products will be fully compliant with these rapidly evolving standards and offer our customers affordable, advanced power solutions.”

MicroTCA and CompactPCI solutions are widely used in non-traditional computer systems including industrial, automation, medical, military and telecom including the latest fabric-based transport of scalable high speed packet switched data used in cloud computing.

The new Gresham Power uTCA family will offer wide range AC input and be comprised of a 600W and a first-in-market 1000W model.

The CompactPCI products currently available from Gresham Power include 3U AC input models with up to 300W output, 300W 3U DC input models and 6UAC and 48VDC input models which provide 650W for the same cost as most competitors’ 500W power supplies. A 6U 24VDC input models providing 350W is also available.

Gresham Power Electronics also manufactures a complete range of OEM power supplies, hot-swap power shelves and products for telecoms, medical, industrial and commercial applications as well as static frequency converters, DC UPS, distributed power systems and DC:AC inverters for Naval Defence systems.
