Flameproof through hole resistors for high power applications

A power metal film through hole resistor designed for high power and pulse power applications has been introduced by Stackpole. The RSPF series is available in power ratings from 1/4 up to 3W with one percent tolerance available. This series offers resistance values from 2.2Ω up to 1MΩ, and the coating is flame proof per UL94V-0.

In addition, Stackpole claims that the RSPF series has excellent stability under short time overload conditions and outperforms general purpose metal oxide resistors of similar size for pulse handling.

Applications for the RSPF include power supplies, HVAC systems, electric motor controls, pumps, automotive and truck instrumentation, and industrial controls and power conversion.
