EMIS announced the release of its TPQS3113 Three-Phase Sinewave Filter, engineered to improve power quality, protect connected equipment, and extend operating lifetimes in demanding industrial applications.
Modern compact variable frequency drives (VFDs) that use high-speed IGBT switching transistors generate significant harmonic distortion. The TPQS3113 filter smooths these pulse width modulated (PWM) signals into near-perfect sinewaves, providing dV/dt protection, reducing motor losses, and increasing load efficiency. This results in longer motor lifespans, enhanced system reliability, and reduced downtime.
As well as motors, the TPQS3113 also benefits other sensitive equipment such as computers, power converters, and automation systems by minimising voltage and current waveform distortions.
Key benefits:
- Extended motor life – mitigates bearing currents, reduces insulation stress, and minimizes wear on motor cables
- Improved reliability – ensures stable power delivery in harsh industrial environments with high ambient temperatures, vibrations, dust, and heavy electrical loads
- Noise and harmonics reduction – particularly effective in HVAC systems, renewable energy installations, and automation equipment
Typical applications:
- Motor drive systems with long cable runs (up to 2000 m)
- HVAC fan and pump motors.
- Wind and solar inverters for grid compatibility.
- Precision manufacturing and robotics in industrial automation.
- Pumps, compressors, elevators, and escalators.
“The TPQS3113 reflects our commitment to delivering high-performance, reliable power quality solutions that address the evolving challenges of modern industries,” said Mats Andersson, Sales Director, EMIS. “By reducing harmonics and protecting critical assets, our sinewave filter helps customers achieve greater efficiency, safety, and equipment longevity.”
