Sensing and instrumentation specialist Vydas International has announced a new range of low cost DIN RAIL mount switching power supplies designed especially for the industrial automation markets. Manufactured by Carlo Gavazzi, this new product line offers a wide range of power and voltages providing DC power for all low power devices commonly used in automated machinery.
The new SPD power supply range offers a reliable power source, are short
circuit protected with high efficiency and low ripple and are suitable for
use with most sensors, electromechanical relays, contactors, solid state
relays, timers, thermal-regulators, PLC's, controllers, DC motors,
solenoids, displays and other types of custom electronics.

All SPD power supplies carry a 2 year warranty and are approved to UL, cUL,
TUV and CE safety standards: UL class 2 recognised and Class B for the
emissions meeting European standards.

The product line features 7 different sizes of power, from 5 to 240W, all
single phase. All power supply models have a universal 100 / 240Vac input.
Three phase versions will be also available in the near future.

A front trimmer is used for adjustment of the output voltage. This useful
facility allows an increased voltage output when losses on lines are causing
low voltages at the load.

SPD power supply models up to 18W are equipped with two front panel LED's
providing visual indication of power out enabled and low voltage on the
output. All other sizes have in addition to visual LED indication, a
physical output with the "Power Ready" signal for use by other electronic
devices or to power an alarm.

Parallel connection is possible on 120W and 240W models. On the 240W it is
provided as standard and on request on the 120W version.
